ASSSA Health Insurance Spain Reviews: Is It Worth It?
/ASSSA Health Insurance is not just another name in the Spanish insurance market; it’s a company with over 80 years of expertise, specifically catering to the needs of expats living in Spain, either part-time or full-time.
Regulated by Spain's Directorate-General for Insurance and Pension Funds (D.G.S), similar to the Financial Services Authority (F.S.A), ASSSA boasts a strong presence along the Spanish coast and in other key locations. This review explores ASSSA's offerings, weighing their pros and cons for expats.
About ASSSA Health Insurance
ASSSA is a reliable private health insurance provider in Spain that offers a wide range of plans for expats, families, and residents. The company offers multi-lingual support and strong customer service. ASSSA guarantees no premium increases due to age along with no policy cancellations, and this makes it a good long-term option for expats living in Spain. ASSSA offers five plans in total while three of them work for visa applications.
What ASSSA Insurance Covers
ASSSA offers five health insurance plans that provide a range of benefits. However, not all satisfy visa or residency applications (the Basic plan can’t be used for either and the Summum plan only works for residency applications).
All plans cover general practitioner and paediatrics. They also cover emergencies, medical specialites, basic dental services, ambulance services, family planning, international assistance, and more. Daily and cost limits can vary by plan. We’ll cover a few major differences below.

ASSSA Accident Insurance
ASSSA policyholders can add accident insurance. This covers accidental death, accidental disability, and extra services after a car accident.
